Hi,

Looking to stock my freezer... what meals are still good after freezing?!

Also, what’s the best way to freeze chicken cutlets?

Thanks!

Meatballs in sauce
Soup
Almost every sauce based thing
I know people who freeze kugel but it doesn't work out for me.

Baked ziti
Lasagna (undercook these a bit)
Pizza dough (pre-bake rounds, layer with sauce and cheese and freeze ready to bake.
Fried breaded eggplant. Layer with sauce and cheese and bake fresh for eggplant parmesan

Meat sauce
Shredded beef (for sandwiches or tacos)
Cabbage beef stew
Meatballs
A hearty one bowl soup with meatballs in it or chunks of meat or dark meat chicken

Egg noodles (like bow ties & cabbage, orzo, shabbos soup noodles)
Knish kugel aka doughless potato knishes
Farfel

Soups

Cleaned and seasoned chicken legs, laid out flat in a Ziploc, so it freezes in a size/shape that would fit right into a 9x13 pan.

Raw seasoned and breaded chicken cutlets stacked with pieces of parchment paper between each one, with instructions to bake at 400 for 20 min once thawed.

Raw seasoned and formed burgers, stacked and frozen with instructions to bake at 425 for 20 minutes once thawed.

Ziploc bags of measured out rice with measured seasoning and instructions for how much water to add and how long to bake in the oven. White, wild, brown...

Buy bags of frozen vegetables, onion rings, potato puffs, French fries etc for quick side dishes that you can throw on cookie sheet and bake-through.

Lasagna, quiche, blintzes, most kugels and casseroles (I don't think potato kugel freezes well, but I know others who don't mind it), any soup, cooked beans, baked macaroni and cheese, burritos, french toast, pancakes, homemade pizza bagels, chili, garlic bread (sliced baguette smeared with butter and garlic and wrapped in foil. Stick straight into oven, still wrapped, to defrost and toast).

I am picky about freezer food but if you are not then go for it. I’m ok with frozen soup, meatballs, beef stew, pizza. I don’t like frozen lasagna or ziti or chicken or kugel
