How long does it usually take for you to hear back from the Mishpacha whether a piece has been accepted or rejected?

And do you find the yeses come sooner than the nos?

My aunt used to write for magazines, she once just saw her piece in a magazine on the weekend, very edited but her piece. She hadn't heard back from them before seeing it in print.
She got paid for it a week or two later.
(She wrote often for various magazines so she had already had a general agreed payment amount. )

A couple of months.
I don't notice a difference for yeses and nos.
Some publications specify that yeses can take longer because the submission is passing more "checkpoints"

Thanks so much for the responses. I guess I'll continue to wait patiently.

Wow, I'm quite surprised to read about a piece being published without confirmation!

That is very unusual!! I work for a magazine and we would never do that. I would be surprised if such a story hpnd among the heimishe magazines.

Generally I find if you go through the "front door" it takes at least 4 weeks. With proteksia, I've had super fast responses. Like 1-3 days. Hatzlacha!

So how does one get "proteksia"?

Around 6 weeks for a response unless you know a writer or editor who works for the magazine who can push it in faster
