I have a child with HFA who is in public school (outside the city), in a mainstream class with supports. Speaking very generally, there's significant pluses to mainstreaming for these kids. The influence of peer modeling is significant, and in addition self contained classes are not always sufficiently academically challenging.
D75 schools are for self contained classes. If you're seriously considering public school I strongly urge you to consider the ASD NEST program. I have relatives who have taught in it and it is an excellent program, with co-taught classes and a smaller class size.
It really depends on your child's specific needs and their ability to fit into a mainstream class. It might also be worth looking at Sinai since they have programs at SAR and YCQ.
cnc: DOE will give an immediate non-public placement if there is no appropriate one in the public system, but it's not at all likely for a child with this profile.

I send my child to Tiferes mordechai. It is a fantastic program. I'm constantly amazed by how well they teach the children! You don't have to deal with lawyers or do ANY paperwork. The school has lawyers/ advocates on staff for that.
You should definitely check it out, they have classes for different functioning levels and maybe there is an appropriate class for your daughter.

I took a school tour at HASC last year before COVID. (It was not for my child - it was for other purposes). I saw many high functioning children- in fact, I would say that the younger grades had basically only high functioning children. The administration told me that the crowd is basically changing, since in recent years there has been an increase in the amount of children getting services and being diagnosed ....
I noticed just a couple of non Jewish children.
