Whick link can I show to my teenager. A link where I will be calm that anything she is buying/ downloading is only classical music. Like beethoven. Nothing from church source or low level . Id put on her whitelist some links to use to listen online too. But only if it's clean. Youtube I dont like because it forces her to see the ads. Also in the suggestions theres loads of garbage. She is into playing instruments. She'd love to listen some

How strict are you about kashrus of music? You sound very sheltered, and I have no idea what you’re really looking for or what is problematic. Or what online sources you would be willing to search - buying a cd or mp3s on Amazon?

For Beethoven, just get a CD of his 9 Symphonies. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Look for something by a professional philharmonic or symphony.

The 9th one has a choir section, and is often performed at Xmas time, but it’s not actually religious. It has some poetic mythological references (ex. “daughters of Elysium”), but it’s not a song of *praise* to any deities, it’s like if an atheist used “Garden of Eden” to refer to a beautiful paradise. No actual belief is implied, it’s just a shared cultural concept.

I taught a music history course at a Bais Yaakov school for two years, so I have lots of individual approved-by-hanhala tracks to recommend from my curriculum, but I don’t think they’d just be found all together in one cd collection or Spotify playlist or whatever.

I can just give a list of pieces I would recommend?

There are thousands of instrumental classical pieces; what does your daughter like? Full orchestral pieces? Violin? Piano?

Your original post used the word “calming” but there is plenty of fantastic music that I wouldn’t call “relaxing” or “calming”.

Thanks. She plays violin and dreams of playing harp. She likes to hear any real professionally played classical. She listened to the link https://youtu.be/Rb0UmrCXxVA?l.....ms1mI on my laptop and was upset why only I can search amd try and she cannot see / browse around those on her kosher laptop. So I d like to give her lots of kosher without words. Can be on audio cd or downloads or links. Id love to have a list of things that you approve. Wether I need to purchase or not. I want to give her lots of kosher pleasure for her ears.

If she’s interested in seeing other frum women instrumentalists:

Rivka Nahari plays the harp: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QK8Rq0yqgc8

Andrea Grinberg plays cello:

Abby Harris is an award-winning pianist and composer and she’s still in high school!

If she likes violin, look for pieces by Vivaldi. His most famous suite is The Four Seasons. It’s a group of 4 violin concertos, one for each season. Totally instrumental.

Our family listens to a radio station KUSC all day, on an internet radio. It's a classical music radio station. USC is the University of Southern California. You can contact KUSC directly to find out all the ways you can listen.

Their website: kusc.org

They play a huge variety of music and I have learned so much. Some of the music is exhilarating, some peaceful, all excellent.

Our children have researched what they've heard on KUSC using wikipedia. [Search what you are interested in by writing wiki first, so to look up Leonard Bernstein, you google "Wiki Leonard Bernstein".]

Our child now plays the oboe. You can compare what various instruments sound like here:

Best wishes.
