We just bought a new duplex! We dont have a say on the layout...
We need to chose: tiles, kitchen, appliances....
Any advice about the above.
Anyone love any of there appliances or a reccomendation of what NOT to get.
Any and all advice is appreciated

I have lots of issues with my induction cooktop. Its pretty but its like a computer. I get error messages all the time. when you're dealign with electricity, much more likely to have issue. (I t think. it is possible that m y electricity is just not up to code) but def. look into the differences, and don't just be enticed by the clean look.

I like my ceramic stovetop. It's easy to wipe down spills and clean as it's smooth glass. I also use it as part of my counter when it's not in use. I hate about it is how if a pan boils over and water hits the control panel, it switches off in 2 seconds-which isn't enough time to wipe the spill.
Make sure you get appliances that can be childlocked, if applicable. My oven, washing machine etc can all be locked. The one time we forgot to lock the washing machine, my dd switched it on shabbos day. It's also for safety that I know that they can't switch on my oven-the door is also locked so they can't open it to put things inside, let alone switch it on.
