I know I'll get tomatoes for this, but try putting him to sleep in his belly .
Or , you can try the car seat, sometimes they like the curved position. And if it's reflux, the car seat position will def help.

I do that already... I can’t put him down until he’s in a deep sleep though because he needs to be actively put to sleep.

Colic medicine might help, also check for acid reflux.

Lie him down on your chest in a rocking chair and cover the two of you in a warm blanket. He hears your heart, is a bit upright and warm.

Fly on your arm, head in the elbow, tummy in your hand.

Get earplugs... this too shall pass...

I second this. B'H, it passes, but I understand how awful it is!

DD was the colic monster from hell - 4 months of screaming non stop. She also despised swaddling, baby wearing, and laying down flat. The car seat was the only thing that worked, when it worked at all.

As soon as she was old enough, we put her to sleep in a swing that had a motor to keep it going. (Don't do this with a baby who can't control their neck, and don't go to sleep with them in the swing, because they can slump down.)

If you feel you are going to snap, put the baby down in a safe place, and walk away for 5 minutes. You can even go out on the porch and get some fresh air. It really helps a lot.
