Purim Katan is this Wednesday. The Shulchan Aruch says, "a person should increase somewhat in festivity, in order to fulfill his duty according to the opinion that it is obligatory.

motheroftwo- does it happen to you that people are so confused when youre bday is that you dont even expect them to remember? I dont expect my friends to remember- theyll probably call me in a month on Purim!

People usually go by my english b-day so not so confusing.
I like it better though when it comes out on purim since the party's already going on!!!

last year we actually got a bakery bday cake in shalach manos by someone who had no idea it was my bday!

my father's bday is on Purim. he said his mother went into labor right after megillah reading.
at least RG's and motherof2's mother's didn't have to worry about bar mitzvah's 4 weeks before pesach!

Mazel Tov my sons too embarrassed forgot he was a leap yr till now. Anyway he's coming home to a cake atleast and my husband is scrambling together a shtikel farbrengen. He will be 10 ia"h, uh he is embarrassed
