We are looking to buy a small summer home, and I cannot find anything on the market in Monticello, Fallsburg etc. The real estate agent wants to show us homes for sale in Liberty, NY. Are there any minyanin around there during the summer season?

there are plenty of camps in Liberty but I don't know if the house in question is next to a camp. Do you have the address? (If you can find a house in Fallsburg, Monticello or Kiamesha, those locations are better)

Liberty is higher up. It gets colder there in August. There are plenty private homes and colonies there.

I believe HASC used to be in Liberty year round. Now only their camp is there.

Weather difference is significant in summer. No idea about the rest of the year but based on August I would assume winter feeling comes earlier. In summer I consider it a great thing. Summers I spent in Liberty were significantly more comfortable than summers I spent in Monticello. Except nights in August in uninsulated bungalows were... bring your winter coats.

I spend my summers in Liberty. The nights are gloriously cool, you do need a good, warm swearshirt, but no need for winter coat... I've been there many years and I've never seen anyone with a coat or jacket. The days are just as hot (or not) as anywhere else but less humid. So weather-wise, it's a great location but it's further out and quite a drive to the popular Catskill hubs

If anyone is familiar with Liberty, would you please send me a private message?
Looking at several potential houses there, but I cannot tell if there is a shul within walking distance, and would appreciate your help. Thanks very much!
