similar length and style to Ann Rinaldi books. could be longer but should be easy to read. I get tired throughout the day and want captivating, stimulating easy to read books while I rest.

Ok. Great. Then you don't want "the great authors". Lol. They are great but you need head space to read The Scarlet Letter or the Age of Innocence.

Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton is a great easy read and a classic. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is similar.

Some of the best books are young adult! Calico Captive and The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth Speare are fabulous. And I second Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes.

The War That Saved My Life
Novel by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

This is a children's/ young adult book, but I really enjoyed it. There is a sequel also that is good.
