A hamantaschen cake would be easy. Bake a square cake and cut it in half diagonally. Frost one layer, and put the other on top. Voila.
the megila cake would be harder. I would make a sheet cake, and then make a jelly roll cake. Put the jelly roll cake on the far side, right along the edge. Similar to how I did the scrolls here:

Put the scroll ON the cake rather than off to the side.

One year for shalach manos I gave out small round cakes. I had decorated the sides with basket weave, and put marzipan candies on top (various fruits) and some other candies as well. It was very cute. Maybe you could do something like that as well? Is this for shalach manos or the seuda? good luck!

Leah | Wow, those are yours? They're beautiful. I am very impressed, and my mother was an amazing cake decorating artist, so I don't impress easily. Gorgeous stuff.

It's for the Seuda. Were either going to have like 12 ppl, or 4....

Just a thought, but if you make a basket weave cake, you can put it on a pedestal in the center of the table as a center piece. Double function. ;-)
