I just had a baby. How did you apply for social security card and how lonh did it take? Baby was born at home, someone told me that she still doesn't have her baby's ans she is 10 months. Is that normal nowadays....? I always applied for it my self by going down and got it a few weeks later but not sure the process now because of covid.

10 months? No not normal. Far from it. I had my baby in October and had the card within 4 weeks

Generally no more than 6 weeks after applying. Your home birth midwife should have given you information about how to apply for a ssc for your baby. Maybe call their office and see if they have a social worker that you can call and sort this out with
