My second baby did this and she turned blue once, we took her to the hospital but they couldn't find anything wrong. The doctor suggested she had reflux and put her on medication but she'd still gag. Finally after a few months, someone suggested she might have an allergy or intolerance and to start eliminating food from my own diet since I was nursing. I thought this was crazy, no one in DH's or my family is allergic to anything but guess what, she was gagging from me drinking milk and eating dairy products. When I stopped having dairy, she stopped gagging. Might be worth looking into?

Its actually a lot more common than you would think.
Especially with dairy products because parts of the cows milk can pass thru the mothers milk not fully digested.

This doesn't mean that the baby will have a dairy allergy or be lactose intolerant later on.

With my son I wS off dairy gluten and chocolate/cocoa amd slowly introduced it as he got older. Started at around 6 months when the babies tummy's aren't so sensitive anymore. At 20 months I eat all 3, and I nurse him. And he also eats all 3 no problem bh.

Another 2 of my kids were very likely also sensitive to gluten and dairy as babies. Especially one child. She would scream nonstop. Refused formula and would vomit terribly. Her flatulence and bowls smelled terribly. Even as a very young baby. Always was irritable. Many years long tummy aches.... It took till she was 5 to realize what the problem is.
But at the time she was a baby I didn't know what a difference diet can make. And to this day both of these children are gluten and lactose I tolerant.

I often wonder if, had I been off gluten and dairy when I was nursing them, would they be gluten and lactose intolerant now?

So now you know how knowledgeable she is, ie not at all. It's OK a top specialist told me gluten also had no effect on the body. They're both wrong.
are you simply trying to stuff pacifier into mouth before she's ready?
