Think of a number - any you want, can be one digit, two digits...

Double it (eg. if the number you picked is 4, if you double it, you have 8)

Add the number 24

Halve the number you now have (eg. if you now have 60, then half of 60 is 30) so you have 30

Deduct the number you picked at the beginning of this riddle

BE"H, you'll be left with______. Don't reveal your end number!

I'll, be"H, tell you the number you're left with when a few have posted that they did this riddle and are up to the end number. Just post the words - "did the riddle."

Please note: if you know this riddle then don't do it, or pm me.

Thanks. Good luck!

Did it. Not sure exactly what the math priciple behind it is, but cool. Tried it with a few different numbers so figured out how you'll be able to guess the answer. I'm not a math person so don't know why it works, but it does.

ready for the answer/end number?

ummm, p'haps I'll still wait a bit.... 7 posts... is that too few?

Just kidding. OK,

just a sec. I have to figure out the answer - ummm... add number? with number? multiply by ? add to number? multiply by ? times, add ?. divide by. multiply again by ? ...another minute =

PRESTO! the number you ended with should be 12

If you didn't get 12, then do the calculations again.
Post if you did get 12.

Let's do it again with a different number... in next post.

Let's do it again - you can choose the same number you picked the first time, or pick a different number

Choose a number

Double it (eg. if chose 4, then 4+4=8)

This time add a different number 68

Halve it (eg. if you now have 44, then half is 22)

Deduct the number you chose at the beginning

be'H, The answer/end number should be ...... I'll post it tomorrow, iy"H.

GUESS WHAT? This time the answer won't be 12

G'nite. Good luck!

Then perhaps we share the same grandmother?
My dearest grandmother a"h taught it to me a bit over 30 years ago.
Did your grandmother teach it to you?
