I've always been wondering how people make their own braid with their own hair?! How do people manage to do it themselves. I would love to try it . How do I start? I can do it for someone else , but never thought I can do it with my own hair. Please can you describe to me how to do it on me?

Split it into three and braid it. I taught myself to French braid my own hair during class in 9th grade. Practice a lot. Then practice some more. Braid a little then pull it around to the front to finish.

What do you mean? What type of braid? My 7 year old daughter braids her own hair.

Gather it into a pony tail at the back of your head. Initially it helps to anchor it with a hair elastic, but when you have more experience you can dispense with that. Divide it into three and start braiding. Pull the initial sections fairly tight, to give the braid a sid base. Once it get too long to comfortably reach over your back, put fingers between each section to keep them separate and bring it over one shoulder. I bring it over my left shoulder, but that's personal preference. Carry on braiding until you reach the end.
I've been doing this daily for most of my adult life, and don't even think about it now. It's just a matter of practice.
