The zip lining in the rain forest was a great experience. Viator website is good for booking trips.

We have small kids and had a wonderful time. Rented a gorgeous airbnb in a condominium with playground and pool right on beach. There is a great chabad there. Rainforest wonderful and has an easier trail. Boat rides, lots to do . Pm me and I will share babysitter info.

What is a good hotel to stay in that isn't too expensive but has beach access?

Also, what are the best attractions to go to? Only going for 4 days

The El Conquistador was spectacular, but heavily damaged in Hurricane Maria. The beach access was supposed to reopen in the summer, but I would check.

Granted,I was there 11 years ago, but there was a huge Wal-Mart with lots of American products with hechsher. We stayed in a rental so we bought a big bowl for salad and bought lots of fresh produce and canned veggies to add in. There was Lactaid milk available with a hechsher. Pretty sure there was star kist tuna and other products as well. And all the chips and candy that you find in the US.
We brought frozen cooked food from home and bought foil there to double wrap to heat up in the condo.

The El Yunque rainforest is a must see.
I also enjoyed old San Juan.

When I went I stayed in La Concha hotel which was really nice. The rainforest is a must-see, really beautiful. There are also bioluminescent rivers, but I don't think it is baby friendly. I had an amazing tour guide for the rainforest. They also do many different trips, like scuba diving, snorkeling, boating etc. Chabad recommends them.

How far is the rain forest from the chabad area? Does everyone go with a tour or you drive on your own? Do you rent a car for local stuff or you Uber?

Not exhausting at all. It's a relaxing evening kayak ride and pretty cool.

The El Yunque rainforest has an easy trail down to a beautiful pool of water. The trail is called Los Angelito and I did it easily pregnant. You can park right at top of trail entrance and swim down at the bottom.
