Are you supposed to give a gift to a neighbor if they arranged shiva meals for you?

No gift necessary, a thank you note would be nice if you can if not a phone call is also good.

B"H never had shiva meals arranged for me, so not speaking from experience, but I think I would specifically NOT give a gift as it would feel like it somehow detracts from the mitzvah they did. But a note of thanks and appreciation is always welcome and appropriate.
