You can buy a blackhead extractor at the drug store, but what you're seeing on his nose might be sebacious filaments and not blackheads

This!!
I would first try scrubbing soap on a nightly basis (unless skin gets too dry and you can do it every other day!!)
We live st yves. But try a few and see which he likes best (much cheaper than facial to start!!)

No dermatologist yet, and definitely not the strips! Like ever ever. Get him a gentle salicylic acid based cleanser.
Teen acne is really hard because it’s mostly hormonal, as opposed to dirt. Just don’t make a big deal out of it because it can make him feel bad. It’s especially hard because teens have this complex where they are convinced that every notices every blemish on their face, when in reality everyone is too focused on their own face to notice yours. Maybe it’s different with boys, idk, but I remember this feeling when I was a teen!
Best of luck!

Take him to a dermatologist. Most of the over the counter face creams don't work.

Without a facial, without extractions, nothing will remove them.

You’ll be happy to know that chemical exfoliators will do the job while being less invasive, less stripping, and cheaper!

Oooh! I'm one of those psycho people that would love to extract them! I beg my teenage son to let me do his nose, but he runs away.

It's so fun! Teach him to do it himself!

I had a ton of blackheads on my nose as a teen, and I used the strips. Looking back, I think a facial would have been better because in addition to extraction, the facialist will fully clean out and help shrink the pores, so they don't just fill up with new gunk. The strips do work, in that they pull the blackhead out, but then what you are left with is an enlarged empty pore which gets clogged up quickly with new oil and dirt.

Teen acne is very hard to handle because as another poster said, it's largely hormonal. Absolutely have him use acne- friendly face washes but sometimes when you just want the darn things gone, you have to just get them extracted.

absolutely. If you want it to be more effective, do it after a hot shower. Don't scratch it but push the skin down. You can also buy at the drug store a little long stick with a round piece on top, it has a mini hole in the middle. You use that to push down on the skin and the black head comes right out. Without damaging the skin and without any products. I do that for years already
