Hypothyroid in Infants-outgrown?

Did anyones child outgrow it, even if Drs told you its unlikely that they will?

I wouldnt play around with it.
It can lead to underdeveloped cognitive capacity, among other things.
I would not wait and see if my child "outgrows" it

Yeah sorry was typing error I guess it depends what type it is as to the percentage if child will outgrow it or not! Does the child have a thyroid? Is it right shape in right place? All these factors make a big difference!

Does your child have a normal sized thyroid glad? If the gland is minuscule or not there at all, then there’s practically no chance for it to be outgrown.

My daughter was born with congenital hypothyroidism. She is a regular developing child and while it’s a huge pressure to remember the meds every day, she is completely normal BH . No side effects at all physically or emotionally . I was hoping she would magically outgrow it but it didn’t happen, it usually doesn’t Though according to her levels at birth .
I am very grateful they test for it at birth - as opposed to the days before they tested . ( I think only since 1987)
