Or really an Jewish doctor, therapist. Asking about a specific store etc. a person is opening a thread basically asking people to weigh in. I’m not really sure how this is halachically ok. There usually are a few people with a negative experience and anyone who reads it is being mekabel lashon hara. Why are these threads allowed?

They are asking only for a purpose and its on the answerer to follow the laws of toeles in how they answer.
Different people look for different things that are important to them so technically there is no right or wrong answer.

It’s a public thread. It’s not toeles for everyone

How about people who don't need the information should just keep scrolling without accessing the thread? Were all adults here. If you need the information, read it. If you don't, don't open the thread. That way if you're worried about lh, you won't have to inadvertently be oiver, while people needing the information will still get it.
And, no, I don't think a moderator needs to enforce this since we're all adults and have some self control

OP you're absolutely right. It's weird how someone posting something negative about Ivanka, something she did in public, gets lambasted that it's LH. Or someone commenting negatively on practices by some communities that are against halacha, and she's called out for LH.
In reality, both the above examples are usually not LH according to the Chafetz Chayim. Yet asking info about Jewish professionals is very dangerous territory in terms of LH but no one bats an eyelid.

Correct. I’m in middle of learning the Halachos and it’s really not simple

There is a dangerous obgyn who has been posted about here. She put my health at great risk, and I happily told my story about her. That’s called a mitvah.

For you it may not be.
For me, because of my history it would do great harm.
