We have carpet in our apartment besides for the kitchen and bathroom and every time I walk in those rooms, my shoes stick to the floor. Sneakers and crocs. Freshly mopped floor. I'm going nuts. Advice?

Probably too much cleaner is being used when cleaning the floor. It can leave residue. Use just 1 cap from the Mr. Clean in a whole bucket of water. You also need to dry the floor as you mop. It shouldn't air dry.
If that doesn't fix things, then the carpet may be dirty and transferring.

Why shouldn’t floors air dry?

I always leave my floors to air dry, but I agree that the cause here is probably too much soap. You can leave the soap out altogether and just use hot water with quarter of a cup of vinegar. It does an equally good job.
