I just had my first baby last week and Kah my baby lifts her head up on her own (Humble brag). Sure she doesn't have complete control but she still lifts her head with some serious strength. I asked my homebirth midwife whether it's normal and she said that in the past two years babies necks are stronger. So my question to all Imas of babies born within the past two years is: have you seen this?!
Just what??

Depending on the child. I had a baby yesterday and she doesn’t lift her head like my son did 4 yrs ago. Each to their own.

Am I missing something? Where does a homebirth come in?

Nope, and I've had kids every year since 2015. My oldest had the strongest neck.

All my kids did. My oldest is 12 1/2. I assume genetics.

2 years? My older kids held their heads up from 1 week old also.
Some babies can and some can’t never heard of it being a new thing.

Definitely not.
Varied with my children. 5 of them could not, and 2 of them did (ages 8 and 3 weeks)

Nope. All my babies pick their heads up from birth. It's a muscle tone thing*
Just keep giving your baby tummy time so she keeps doing it and stays comfortable with being on her stomach. Otherwise they tend to scream and cry as they get older.
(*And genetics linked. Certain races are shown in the research to pick their heads up earlier/later.)

Yes, I thought it was so weird that she thought she's been seeing it more in the past two years. Just wondering if anyone else has had that experience.
