Driving? flying? Obviously not into Canada because would have to stay at an airport hotel for three days. Flying to an airport near the border, renting a car and driving the rest? Thoughts, ideas?

From what I understand they cannot turn away their own citizens.

As of now we'd certainly have to quarantine on arrival for 14 days. But at least we can be with family. Agree there's a small risk. Should allow citizens in but these days things are risky...

Don't say that at the border. You must quarantine in a private location or you will have to go to a designated hotel.

I live in Montreal and my siblings who live in the US are planning to come.
You need to Covid test prior to crossing the border as well as at the beginning and end of quarantine.

Well, for one, my husband doesn’t want to be there and have to quarantine, not go to davening over YT. That automatically nixed it.

This should lift before Pessach - but this is what Torontonians are meant to be following these days.

Is your husband Canadian too? Because I’ve heard about them turning them away.

How does it work? Are you going to come ten days before Pesach so you can quarantine before spending time with your family, or are you going to quarantine with your family? Then your family will need to quarantine?

I'm confused 😖

I guess we can tell the border that we'll quarantine in the parents' basement?

What kind of alternate plans, unlikely to find an empty house... We're all dual US and Canadian citizens so that should be safe. With Pesach there's just no room for taking even a slight chance that the border doesn't like something and doesn't let us in, I really want to go just don't know if it's worth the risk especially because it's Pesach....

You need to complete a registration via an app.

I know someone, a Canadian citizen, actually dual, who officially does car service trips to an fro. Always has passengers. Makes sure to ask if they all have Canadian papers and now with the testing I believe he makes sure that too. Was never turned away.

Also, I'm not sure how much, if at all, the restrictions changed since Chanukah, but did any of you actually read the paper? I did. It states that you are allowed to quarantine with family in one house. Just need to have a separate bathroom and keep cleaning surfaces.

But yes, the not being able to go to shul the entire pesach is something to really take into consideration.
