They are totally different types of schools. Can you tell us what you and your family are like?

BSM is old fashioned and old school.
And they don't give lunch.... for me it's a big factor.

This may be old information.

KBY has only chassidishe families.
BSM has a mix of yeshivish, heimish and chassidish.

KBY has lunch
BSM does not serve lunch

KBY should have more covered shaitels
BSM should have less

KBY has a more in town parent body, including Williamsburg types
BSM is a more Monsey style

They should be equally strict about technology. BSM probably will be more honest about halacha and would not have a problem to say eye makeup is assur, even if many of the mothers wear it, which I appreciate it.

I wouldn't want to base my decision on a random internet poll of women who don't know me or my child's personality and needs.

I'm not basing my decision solely on this thread but information is power and the more info I get on the schools, the more informed my decision will be. The posters don't necessarily need to know all the details of my child/family in order to offer information on these schools. In fact, I'm not asking for any posters to help me decide. I want to be the one making the decision, but it's hard to do so, without having proper information on the schools.

Thank you to all the other posters who offered information. Thank you for the insight.

Thank you so much for the detailed and informative list!

Speaking from experience - If your child has or you will anticipate them having any special need - then go to BSM over Kesser. The older schools here are well established with Title 1 support, Kriyah help, social workers, social skills resources, mentors, educational consultants. The newer schools like Kesser are not yet set up for that support and it becomes the complete responsibility of the parent to source and fund it.

Not to derail the thread, but what halachic source do you have that eye makeup is assur?

Do you have personal experience with both these schools? From the people I know who send to KBY, I don't think there would be covered sheitels there and plenty heimish. Where you say Williamsburg types, I'd say BP types.

This. There aren't many Williamsburg type families in Kesser. It's more heimish chassidish simple uncovered wigs. I do know some families from Williamsburg that send there but they're a bit more on the cool chassidish side.

The person I know at KBY is covered and from Williamsburg.
Maybe the crowd is different. Best to confirm.
