DD has been asking for a camera. She is 12. Does anyone have any suggestions of something appropriate for her age? Thank you so much!

(It was $20 cheaper though when we bought it)
She's very happy with it
I was hoping to find much cheaper, but discovered that anything under about $70 wasn't really worth getting.

Is she looking to take snapshots or actually learn photography? If she wants to actually learn photography, you really need a camera that has manual features.

I also just got my girls a canon
We first tried the cheaper brands and they were really junk that broke right away. And we wasted a lot of money. I’d go with a known brand.

Another vote for Canon, but we find the best bang for the buck from Canon's certified refurbished cameras, which are refurbished by Canon and carry the same warranty as new cameras. The regular prices are nothing special, but 2-3 times a year they have big markdowns, and you can get some great deals. Here's the website:
