Hi,
My mother works very hard every yom tov to host many married kids and grandkids.
She serves and cleans and I and my kids are the only one helping..
Most of my siblings sit and let my mother do all the work. It's insane.
My mother already knows that when she wants to ask for help she'll call one of my kids and I'm so proud of this that my son, A teenager helps! But it's a huge crowd and things need to change. Everyone needs to help!!
But Everyone feels entitled to sit . . . - Mrs A is due now, Mrs b has a newborn, Mrs C. has a teething baby who needs to be held at all times.. You get the idea?
I'd love to write a short and cute poem asking everyone to realize that Mommy needs to sit while we do all the serving and cleaning. I don't want anyone to feel attacked so I need to keep it light and bring out my point in a clear yet funny way..
Maybe even suggesting in the poem that my sibling should expect their kids to help and to tell them so!
Any suggestions?
TIA!!!

Welcome to Goshen, AKA Mommy's Place!
Time to wipe that smile right off your face!
Like the Jews of Mitzrayim, we announce with elation
That this won't be just like any vacation!
While you may have excuses for resting or grooving,
A crack of my whip will get you all moving!
Why is this Yom Tov different? As you may have seen
The house here is ruled by our gracious queen!
And though she sometimes acts like but a slave
She is second to the king, so we must behave!
Don't make her do work, since as you know
For such a crime to the dungeons you go!
And if your child is just resting and lazing
Encourage some helping, it will be amazing!
The good news my friends, you will understand
At least this is not being built on quicksand.
After a meal is served and cleared away,
Back to the couch you may go and stay!
And since all of us are eager to avoid getting beaten
It'll all get done quickly, and then back to our seatin'.
With all of us pitching in, we'll still have plenty of rest
And Queen Mommy will be feeling her best!
