My pearents will be hosting my family for all of yom tov. What is something amazing I can get them. I know they need a new cd player but isn't that's just too cheap? Any good ideas? We are bringing out own matzoh.

Pillow covers for everyone, if you have the budget for it.
Or a massage for your mom after yom tov.

So nice! Parents usually love pictures of the grandkids already framed or those cubes that display pictures. Great idea to get them what they need and since you know about the cd player you are ahead of it!

I never hosted Pesach but I can imagine these would be appreciated:
Tablecloth for Pesach
Those new lucite hagados
Linen set for their room
New appliance she can use on Pesach ie.- a mixer if she doesn’t have one

Do they have grandkids over a lot? If so, an activity center is a good idea.

Nothing wrong with a CD player.
A gift is something that a person wants needs or likes that they wouldn't necessarily buy for themselves so if you know they need a new CD player and you know that they're not necessarily going to buy it then go ahead and buy it for them It's a great gift

If they want a CD player get them a CD player. Want to give something else along with it? What about something personalized from Etsy? A cutting board with your mother's favorite pesach recipe (or non pesach recipe for year-round use) etched onto it? A personalized picture frame or piece of artwork?

If you know they want a new cd player, then just get them that (although I don't think I've seen cd players for sale for years around here).
Good quality table linens are always nice too.

I was once given this mat that rolls out onto the counter so you can put hot things down. I keep it rolled up in a drawer and use it every Shabbos.
