Hi!
I have a recipe that calls for 1 Cup of Liquid sugar, I am assuming that the reason is because some people only use liquid sugar. What would be the equivalence to regular sugar?
TIA

Simple syrup made from 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water, will yield 1 1/3 cups liquid syrup.
So it sounds like you'll need 3/4 cup of granulated sugar.

I actually got the recipe on this site:
Nut Cake
8 egg whites- beat till stiff
Slowly add one cup liquid sugar while beating
(I do this in my food processor)
(This cake is very sweet and moist, probably can put less than one cup)
Separate bowl, mix:
4 egg yellows
2 mashed bananas
1 cup ground nuts
Gently fold egg whites into the batter in the other bowl. Slowly mix it all together. Gently or the cake will flop.
Pour into 9x13 and bake at 350 for about an hour until cake is firm.
Sorry you have to waste 4 egg yellows. I haven't yet found a good solution to that.
Stays great in the fridge. I made one Friday and served it today, it was amazing. Fresh and moist and perfect.
