Hi, any parenting books that can help me? I’m really struggling with his behavior. He is constantly picking fights with me over the limits I set. He already has a therapist and I can’t afford one for myself. He’s angry and dissatisfied a lot of the time unless a screen is in his face. Help.

Speak to his therapist about how to handle him.

I’ve done this. I’d like other perspectives along with his.

Books will have many perspectives but the therapist knows him best so your best bet for success is to work along with them. If you don't trust the therapist, find another one.

I certainly will. I just don’t see the harm in educating myself further, hence the call for book recommendations.

My relative just wrote a great book that’s actually coming out officially in a couple of days, but you can preorder it here on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....517c6

He sent it to me to read before publishing and it’s really excellent

My therapist recommended this book to me! She was at a professional panel and heard Matis speak and really liked his approach.

I look forward to reading the book!

"Parenting Teens with Love and Logic" (and the workbook series as well)

I used this with DD, and it improved out relationship 1,000%. We went from constant fighting and power struggles, to "Mama, I'm so happy we are doing things differently now!"

For general parenting, I really like To Kindle a Soul by Lawrence Keleman. Torah hashkafos, research based and down to earth.

I like books from a different angle- such as books on sensory differences, books by Stanley Greenspan and even more out of the box- uniquely human by Barry prizant- though its written about children with autism it helped me understand my “regular” children- that there are reasons behind their behavior and if I can tap into that I can better understand them and help them.

Most of all I was helped by Blimy heller. What a difference she has made in our lives.

Good luck!

Also- does he like his therapist? I found that the therapists that my son really loved were the only ones that were effective
