We only use shmura matza. Hand for the sedarim and a mix of hand and machine the rest of the days.

We eat gebruchts. So I buy shmura matza meal and shmura cake meal.

Yep, fixed. Thanks.

Sleep has not been a major feature of this chag.

I mean non shmurah like the manischewitz or whatever in shop rite/costco/wherever. I know there is machine shmurah and hand made shmurah, I am not referring to the machine shmurah. I am just asking about the regular machine matzah. And come to think of it all the matzah meal products (matzah meal, cake meal, etc)

There are other hashgachos that have 18 minute/non shemura machine.

We make our own matzah, but wouldn't have a problem eating non shmurah by someone.

We were once surprised when we were guests some where and we told them we ate machine and they bought us non shmura which we couldn’t eat. (BH we had brought our own anyways).

Are you yekkes? My KAJ family was makpid on machine.

My family minhag growing up was being makpid on 18 minute matzah, and shmura only by the sedarim. I was the only family I knew who grew up on this minhag, we would buy out our store's supply of 18 matzah (everyone else I knew ate either Streits/Manichiewiz or Shmura/Hand only.) Interestingly enough my husband has the same minhag.

We only eat shmurah- hand, machine, and matzah meal- all pesach. We eat gebrochs but I don't actually make matzah balls because shmurah maztah meal is so expensive.

Yes but I don’t think many ppl do this anymore. It’s really weird to eat machine matzah at the Seder.

Some of my yekkish family still only eats machine matza. We do eat hand but every piece is checked before Pesach. (Does everyone check their matzos before Pesach?)

My Yekke grandfather believed that machine matzah is better for this reason. (That a machine makes less errors)

We take hakalot and eat everything that some Orthodox Rabbis allow. So we eat regular matza, all the kitniot, all of the "Passover breads" they sell in Israel, etc.

This year I bought some whole wheat matza, rye matza, spelt matza just because I thought it might be healthier. It all tastes the same when you load it with tomato sauce and cheese, or with butter and jam 😂

I never eat my matza plain, but that has to do with personal taste

I'm sure there are outliers but I feel like most people who only eat shmurah don't eat gebrochts anyway, so the matza meal/cake meal isn't an issue. Correct me if I'm wrong!

We eat shmurah for seders and regular the rest of the week. My in-laws do buy machine shmurah for the week. I learned about spending thousands of dollars on matza on imamother.

We eat only shmura but also we eat gebrochts. They are two different chumros... so we buy machine shmura matza meal and cake meal. We also do machine shmura aside for the seders because hand shmura is too expensive for us (and we only buy the cheapest hand matza at costco and we dont buy a ton!) so we asked our rav, and he was like, use your brain and seichel! Buy machine shmura!

There are those who hold that machine is preferable to hand actually.

We eat only Anura matza. Hand for the seder, machine for the rest.
We are not makpid on hand ground flour for the matzot.
We got GF shmura oat machine matza for DD with celiac.

Same here!
Though, practically speaking I use minimal matzah for cooking and baking due to cost/taste/wierd color. I only have one mezonos recot I like and I make just enough to have mezonos w Kiddush.

Until I got married (to a Sephardi), I only ate machine matzah all pesach. Now I eat soft matzah that is like a laffa.

Amother because this is very unique
