If DH doesn't have a consistent schedule does he let you know when he'll be home? Does he call you when he's on the way?

Always. But he tends to overshare this kind of thing - "Getting ready to leave" "Just left" "Coming up" kinda thing

We constantly text throughout the day so even if he's coming home normal time, he'll still tell me that he's heading to the subway.

I request that he does so I can have a sense of when dinner should be ready (most nights are reheating prepared food )

My husband used to tell me a little before,"I think I'll be done soon..."we changed it to "I'm in the car,I just left" because I was getting too frustrated when it didn't happen!!

Mine doesn’t have a set time, he often comes home late, and there are often emergencies that crop up. we briefly discuss his schedule in the morning, so I’ll usually know when it’s going to be a very late day, but he’l call or txt when he’s on the way home..

I live with my parents. And I share my location on my phone with them.. especially since I got my own car and they can't track it. Makes life easier for us bc they can check that I'm still at work or on the way home and I don't have to deal with constant texts.

Every couple has there dynamics I learned that a long time ago. My husband doesn’t have a set schedule , so no he won’t call etc but if I call him I get answers or I will let him know I will need his help and he will be home etc. supper if he’s home is good if not he eats later or skips supper.

Common curtesy and I extend the same respect to him. It’s just nice manners.

My DH usually doesn't call, but I know his general schedule. He has busy seasons when he works later and quieter seasons when he's home earlier.

However, when we changed the clocks and his mincha/maariv schedule changed, we discussed when to have dinner ready for him. If he is late, I just warm it up.

Always. When he was commuting he would call when he left the office and then text me when his bus left port authority.
