My 3 month old has a wet sounding cough and usually sneezes before or after he coughs. He’s eating fine and seems to be happy. No fever.
Is a cough in a baby this young reason to visit the doctor?

Yes. RSV is going around like crazy now and it doesn’t always come with fever.

Now you’re scaring me. Can it wait till tomorrow? He’s sleeping peacefully now.

If he's breathing ok and not wheezing, I think it can wait.

If he's sleeping peacefully and no fever there's no rush. My 7 yr old had rsv at 7 weeks old. DC didn't end up in the hospital because bh there was no fever. Rsv needs to be monitored very closely and often babies end up hospitalized. Baby had to be seen every other day.

How was he diagnosed with it?

I was just hospitalized with a 2 week old baby with rsv over pesach.
As long as the child isn’t working too hard to breath your ok .

RSV is a common virus. In toddlers and up it's just a cold. In babies it can cause breathing issues.
My twins had it at about 6 months. One twin needed to be hospitalized in the ICU. The other (despite having reactive airway issues) was just under the weather.
I wouldn't take a baby to the doctor for suspected RSV unless their behavior was worrisome (not as alert) or they were having trouble breathing.
