Please advise a gynecologist for a high schooler, in Flatbush. She started getting her period every 2 weeks, for 2 months already. It happened after being sick with Covid (not sure if there's a connection).

Ask your pediatrician for a recommendation. Im sure your dd isn't the only teen that had to go to a gyno.
I once took my dd to my OBGYN. We met him in the OR of our local hospital. Dd got a bite in her private area (we didn't know that until the exam) and her pediatrician was out of town for the night. Dd thought her experience was very professional, my dr treated her with compassion.

I suggest you start with your pediatrician. They can evaluate and do a basic work up. If they can’t help, We generally send teens to endocrinologists for these issues, not gynecologists.

From reading everyone's threads, many women's cycles were disrupted by Covid and by the Covid shots. Teenagers are even more likely to have very irregular cycles. I'd just wait it out.

My daughter was also getting her period every 2 weeks. I started with her pediatrician who told me that it's normal. It has since stabilized

For how long? I'd think it's normal in the first year-two after getting the period, but she first got her period 4 y ago

Can a pediatrician do a blood test for hormones?

Don't panic. It's happening to women who had their periods for 20 years already. You can call your pediatrician.

She only sees gyn patients, not ob.
Very sweet and in tune to religious women - not relevant for your daughter but helps that she understands our lifestyle

OP, this seems to have happened to many people who had covid, from teens to older women. I wouldn't be so quick to run to a gyn. Wait another month or two.

Thanks so much, ladies. You're all right, I'll take her to the pediatrician first.
