I have been sending girls to camp for years and know all the extras they need, now my son will be going to kol torah this summer and am wondering if it is the same as the girls.
Any tips on what a boy (coming out of 8th grade) needs to bring? nosh box? sports gear? folding chair? fan? etc?
I know this camp is not in a "camp", but in a dorm....does that change what he need?
Also, I know the boys wear t-shirts and sports pants a lot of the day, but they need white shirts and regular pants as well. If he wont send white shirts to the laundry, how many does he need? I was thinking that he can re-wear each many times since he wont be wearing it much of the day. thoughts?

Slides
Outside lounge chair
Fan
Nosh box + Gatorade
Tiro pants (depending on the camp)
Not old style white underwear - boxers or something similar (I know this will get a lot of comments but boys are more comfortable changing and may be embarrassed in others)
MP3 player + headset
Robe with good coverage (depends on camp and shower setup)

What do you mean by white shirt.
My son goes to a yeshivish camp. They wear white shirts for learning and all davening. My son said boys keep a white shirt and blazer in beis medrish so can put on over t-shirt for mincha/maariv. And cotton pants on same hanger go over sport pants.
The white shirt gets reworn many times. I send old shirts and plan on getting new ones for the new zman.

For sports and activities they wear tshirts. Many with logos (Nike, adidas...)

Only need to take weekday hat.

Sticky Hooks to hang things on wall.
Good flashlight.

(Not sure about Shabbos lamp - they may not have a surface next to bed to put it down).

I'm sending my son to camp for the first time and panicking. I'll spare you guys the anxiety piece, but if you can help with stuff I might need to buy or send along, I'd much appreciate it.
