Jewish women are shorter than the average white European with the same background as them.

I know I am! 154 cm.

I had easy pregnancies and full term babies, so it's all good. I wouldn't want to be so short that pregnancy would automatically be high risk, but other than that, I'm happy being short.

I'm 5'7", so taller than the average non-Jewish woman.

I am partially of non-Jewish ancestry, but all my tall genes are ironically from the Jews in my family tree.

I don't think Jews are really shorter. Look at the well-fed generations of today.

My father's sisters are mostly taller than 5'10 as are his brothers.
My siblings are mostly that height too.
A lot of my female cousins are tall.
I'm tall and broad shouldered.

I think both Jewish men and women especially frum ones are shorter but I don't know if it's backed up by research. It's just what I see around me and comparing to non-Jewish people around me.

There is data on this.

For example you can see average height of ashkenazim in Israel is shorter than average Caucasian height for each gender.

If we compare ourselves to Asians and Central American’s we feel tall but compared to Caucasians we most certianly are not.

I grew up in a place where most people are nonJews descended from France Ireland Scotland England Germany and I was always considered short at 5’4. Now I’m in Lakewood and it’s not very unusual for me to see men shorter than I am or in general for me to feel like the tall person in the room

Is this a thing?

I’m 5’1” and have high risk pregnancies with cervical incompetence and preterm labor. But I never thought the two were connected.

Uh... I have a Jewish friend who’s 4’10” and had uneventful pregnancies and easy births.

This might be a myth.

I have a very petite friend (never asked her her exact height, but I'd say around 5 ft maybe) and she did have complicated births but B"H healthy babies.

I'm 5'4 and in my non-Jewish workplace, was considered petite. I was the shortest female worker.

In the Jewish world, I'm average.

I am 5 5 and always feel tall. Skirts from frum shops are always too short on me. So I am clearly too tall to be frum.

My girls have always been petite, and I've had to size up in frum stores to get clothes that were long enough to adequately cover their knees.

This is about styles being too short and not tznius.

Non Jewish caucasians tend to marry taller men resulting in taller kids and the kids continue the cycle etc. I’ve noticed many Jewish couples who are of the same size or the man is shorter than the woman and the kids are petite. Plus ppl marry into the community. Also Hungarians are shorter than ppl of Polish descent. I’m 5”5 and shortest of all my siblings who range to 5”11. Got my mother’s Hungarian height plus my husband is Hungarian so my kids r gonna be petite
