I have been off of sugars, sweeteners and white flour for 3.5 years and I’m really proud of myself.

I’m looking for new foods I can add to my diet... to get more vitamins and energy etc and more variation and taste.

Currently, I cook very traditionally (Think meat and potatoes) and would like to to add variety...

Riced cauliflower. Warm oil in a frying pan, add the riced cauliflower with some salt and pepper and let it cook about 20 minutes, mixing every few minutes.

Sounds yummy! Thank you! Is this filling? Any ideas what to add to make it more substantial?

Roast any vegetable at 425 with oil and salt
Purple cabbage wedges
Zucchini slices
Cubed roots - beets, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, delicata squash
Leeks (strip it down)
Sweet mini peppers
String beans

Get into salads - Romaine Lettuce, baby spinach, arugula, etc with any dressing (you can find without sugar, or make)

Heartyappetite thanks. How would you prepare lentils peas and beans? Chickpeas I make and are yummy, I eat them in their own but don’t like the texture in salad

And trixx thanks also. Any recipes or ideas of salad dressings, I’m bored of my same old. Looking for a change.

So I make soups with lentils and peas.
The bais Yakov cookbook had a delicious lentils soup recipe.
Beans you can do meat and beans, like a Cholent.
Also have you tried roasting Chick peas with spices? It becomes crispy and it’s almost like croutons. It’s delicious in salads.

Use it in place of fried rice! Add veggies, strips of chicken, and a scrambled egg. Add soy sauce. Yummy and filling and pretty.

Apples with sunflower or cashew butter. Actually eating that at the moment, woke up hungry. Can do the same with celery.

Sourdough bread with some olive oil and zaatar. Can add sliced tomato too. Pesto instead of zaatar to change it up.

Snap peas with chummus or by themself.

Blueberry, banana, date, coconut water, hemp seed smoothie.

Overnight GF oats.

I must have misunderstood. I thought you wanted snack ideas. Those are my usual (besides the dates in smoothie. I don't mind the taste)

If I'm on tomorrow I'll post since really good dish ideas.

are you looking for breakfast or supper ideas?

For breakfast - I eat fruit for breakfast as it cleanses the body.
We do lots of acai bowl, smoothies, almond flour muffins.

Lunch - salads with tuna or sliced egg or w/w bread/pita, Greek salad with feta

Supper - steak, chicken, salmon, veg soups to fill up on (Butternut squash, broccoli, squash), eggplant parmesan without the breading, w/w pasta, w/w pizza (buy yitz's frozen dough and make with vegetables in pizza maker - delicious!) sweet potato..

To eat healthy it takes prep! Its all about the mindset!

Salad add Ideas:
Roasted sweet potato. Those lighter-color ones are amazing.
Avocado
Red quinoa
Beets + Feta with balsamic dressing (by itself or with lettuce/mix green/arugala)

Do you like shakshuka?
As for the beans - there are salads like 3 bean salad where u toss them together and spice... maybe green beans, kidney beans and chick peas? Or corn?

Chopped toasted nuts, any kind you like. Almonds, pecans, etc. It's all good healthy fat.

Roasted chunks of sweet potato. White beans (yum!) are especially good mixed into Israeli salad with a light vinaigrette.

I always carry a bag of nuts in my purse, because of sudden low blood sugar. They really hold me over until I can get a proper meal with protein. (Also, no chametz, so no worrying about cleaning my purse for Pesach. Wink )

I make big batches of beans in my Instantpot, and then freeze them in smaller portions. They defrost perfectly. Make each batch from a single type of bean, don't mix them because they have different cooking times.

When you want 3 bean chili, just take 3 bags of beans out of the freezer. Last minute guests for Shabbos? Toss in a couple extra packages of beans into the cholent, and you're ready to go.
