Freezing mashed potatoes

Is it possible? Or will they be watery and gross?
They are made dairy milk butter etc.

It works if the potatoes are very fattening. If you used lots of milk, butter etc they freeze just fine. If you tried to make them more dietetic they flop.

I have turned them into duchess potatoes which froze beautifully. Those are nice too because you can just heat up however many you want on a given day, you don’t have to wait until you want the whole portion.
