My son (15 mos) was diagnosed w a severe infection for which he was hospitalized for 10 days for iv antibiotics. Bh, he's doing amazingly well. The Dr at the hospital recommended getting him an EI evaluation to establish a baseline and then monitor his developmental progress going forward. Anyone ever heard of this? And know who to go for evaluation? Is this the sort of thing yeled v'yalda does or is there a specialty division for these type of evals?

Hospital SW here. We often initiate EI referral
To the county prior to dc. Is there anyway you can find out if this was already done for you?

I think not, for 2 reasons.
First, they gave me documents on discharge for diff follow-up appts and that was not one of them.
Also, the Dr mentioned this at the follow-up appt, kind of as an after thought.
Are you in the NY area? Who do you usually set up these evaluations with?
