I have the thin 1 inch steaks, not cowboys.
How long should I leave it under the broiler so they don’t get well done.
I want them medium rare

About 5 minutes then flip and broil another 5 minutes. Wrap and let rest 10 minutes before serving.

TUSM Ra mom!
Are you sure 5 on each side won’t make it well done?
I’m really scared of drying it out!
Not sure why I was under the assumption that it’s more like 2-3 minutes a side.

You know what it really depends on your broiler. Try 3 minutes on one side and 2 on the next and see if it looks good to your liking.

5 and 5 would not be well done in my broiler. I find the broiler takes longer than my grill.

I reverse sear my steaks. Comes out med rare inside with a great crust all the time. Just takes much longer to prepare.
