DH and I are foodies.
We used to eat out often but haven’t done so since before Covid.
We have a huge milestone to celebrate now, and I’d love to surprise him with a celebration, but I have no idea where to go!
I used to know all the restaurants well, but it’s been a while (😔)
So I’m looking for a beautiful place, sophisticated and modern food, and obviously delicious. (Meat preferred)
Please recommend! Thank you!

Alenbi fits your description.
I’ve heard good things about Rothschild TLV though I haven’t been.
Meat (that’s the name of the restaurant, in Crown Heights) is also supposed to be good, and very high end.
Most of the restaurants listed in this thread are steakhouses, albeit very high end ones. Not sure their speciality is modern food, if that’s what you’re after.

I like Fireside in Monsey a lot.
Love Bordeaux.
The vibe at Bison and Bourbon is more celebratory.
What about Mur, I think it's in Lawrence? They're pricey but their food is so good.

Reserve Cut is always a good time. Mikes Bistro, if they're open, is also great. Rothschild TLV is a new one and pretty interesting. The only opened during the pandemic so I haven't eaten indoors there, just takeout a few times, but the food is delicious. The lamb shank and beef cheek are both insane. From what I could see when I peeked inside, it's much smaller than the other places, but it does have a very modern vibe. The food is also presented with that fancy innovative plating, and they have a very good cocktail menu as well.

Bumping this up again. Looking for a restaurant that has great food, and even more so, great ambiance. Not very loud and overcrowded. Can be expensive, as this is to celebrate a personal milestone for a very special someone.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been there and love it but am looking for a meat restaurant specifically this time round.
