Does anyone have experience with making cheese lasagna without pre-boiling the noodles? Do I add extra sauce or water to the pan to make sure the noodles don't come out raw?

Thanks ladies!

Yes! Put lots of sauce and some water by the side of the pan when you finish putting everything before putting in oven

I’ve made it before but it soaked up a lot of the cottage cheese layer
They sell pre- boiled noodles and the lasagna comes out better
I’ve even layered it and froze and then baked when I needed it

theres a recipe on here for spinach lasagna that doesn't require preboiling the lasagna noodles. make it all the time often without the spinach. I believe it uses a cup of boiling water that you put around the sides.

This is really helpful, thanks so much!

I have the pre boil noodles, so that's what I'm using, but I'll put in loads of sauce and hope for the best!

Up to 1 cup water around the sides of the pan, using pre-boil noodles.

The first time I tried it I was also nervous
I took the noodles and rinsed them under the faucet
I didn’t use extra sauce
I added a little egg to my cottage cheese mixture
Since the first time I always do it this way

Do it all the time. May take longer to cook through. I use milk instead of water

I have never preboiled lasagna noodles. There is no need to.

And make sure to keep the pan covered when baking.
If you cover everything properly with a ton of sauce it will be delicious and soft. Even if the top layer is slightly crunchy most of it will be really soft

This. And I never add any water or anything either.

The recipe I use is: mix 6 eggs with 2 containers of cottage cheese. Layer lasagna, half of cottage cheese mixture, half a jar of marinara sauce, grated cheese, repeat. Top with a third layer of lasagna noodles and sprinkle with some more cheese (I like to spread a super thin layer of sauce under the cheese because I like the cheese to have some flavour, but the original recipe didn't call for that). Bake on 180C/350F for 1 hour. Comes out perfect every time.

Sauce: 1 egg, 1 lb. cottage cheese, 1 jar marinara sauce/2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce, spices.
Layer 3 regular raw lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the sauce, sprinkle shredded cheese.
Repeat 2 times, for a total of 3 layers (9 noodles).
Pour 1 c. water around the perimeter.
Cover tightly, bake at about 375 75-90 minutes.
