DH and I were discussing over Shabbos, how many cheesecakes would we need to have no other food at all.

The conversation started with wanting multiple cheesecakes (different bakery, chocolate/Oreo/with fruit) but thinking that was overkill and would be wasteful, so we figured if we JUST have cheesecake that could work.

I don't like cheesecake.
I don't make cheesecake.
I don't serve cheesecake.

I do make a delicious milchic peach cake with a cream topping.

(Anonymous in case I'm excommunicated after admitting to such heresy.)

Recipe please.
My kids don't like cheesecake. So I make or buy a small one so I'm not eating the whole thing, but id love other milchig easy desserts.
Bonus points if they're easy to make.

I usually like to have cheesecake and cheesy gnocchi, but this year for various reasons, cooked dairy is off the table

Pareve cheesecake
Pareve spinach quiche
Potato knishes
Tuna salad
Cumin-lime baked tilapia
Some baked chicken dish (maybe the Wolbe one pan rice and chicken)

Still thinking it out Very Happy

ETA: I'm not a huge fan of cheesecake but DH loves loves loves it. I used to not like it at all and now it is tolerable. I still like the crust better 😂!

My family did this one year. We had a cheesecake contest, where each member of the family who wanted to participate made a cheesecake. My mom invited over one family to be the judges and made a huge salad to start and then the rest of the meal was cheesecake. Yum!

If you ever do it again, I will sacrifice myself to be the judge.

2 milchig meals - one salmon and one turbot. The salmon is w Trader Joe "everything but" sprinkled on it. The turbot is a new recipe w sautéed multicolored grape tomatoes, lemon slices and garlic. Salmon meal will also include a goat cheese and lavender tart (also a new recipe), asparagus, and beet arugula salad. Turbot meal will also include blintzes, a classic salad, and sesame green beans. I bought one tiny "real" cheesecake and will be making individual greek yogurt cheesecakes in a variety of flavors: marble and lemon for sure, probably also Chai tea and either key lime or mocha. Iced coffee with or without ice cream will also be available. Starters still under consideration but I know I am making gazpacho which will also be served at at least one fleishig meal and mushroom soup.

Two fleishig meals - one brisket and one grilled chicken cutlets. With the brisket we will have roasted baby potatoes, also sesame green beans, and some kind of tart crispy salad. For dessert DD is making a pareve coconut mango rice pudding that she saw in a magazine. The chicken cutlets will be an outdoor "picnic" meal so all cold and easy to eat with plastic cutlery: chicken cutlet salad, wild rice salad, brownies, cut up fruit to start.

I find I am serving less at yom tov meals than I used to. We feel less ugh after yom tov and enjoy just as much.

Neither of us likes cheesecake. I'm doing all dairy as I usually do on Shavuot: Baked or fried trout (haven't decided yet), a Sephardi macaroni-and-chickpeas dish that I usually make for Shavuot and serve with sour cream and buttermilk, eggplant parmigiana, blintzes (those are store-bought and in the freezer), possibly borscht (will be store-bought), possibly zucchini with cheese. I know I forgot to list something here but I'm sure it'll come to me in the middle of the night sometime before YT. Smile

I plan on making one cheesecake and I expect my husband will buy one from the bakery.
It's just the two of us so we've decided to just have milky seudas, so I'm going to make a vegetable soup and a cheese and spinach lasagne or canelloni, that should last us for both meals; we are in Eretz Yisrael.

I cook pretty simply.

Dairy seudos (night):
Fruit (melon or smoothie)
Vegetable soup (not sure yet what kind)
salmon (not many takers..)
Pizza challah muffins
Salad bar (lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, sliced hard boiled egg, avocado, shredded cheese, etc.)
Ziti
Probably blintzes (not made yet so we'll see)
Roasted broccolli - maybe with cheese

Ice cream/ cheesecake

Fleishig seudos:
Fruit
Maybe soup
Nish nosh salad
Roast with onions, carrots, and potatoes
Orzo or rice with mushrooms/ veggies
Popcorn cauliflower
Apple kugel
Ices

Honey crinkle cookies

We don't eat any fleishigs on Shavuot, making it my favorite holiday.

No clue what will be served when, but:

French onion soup (probably Sunday night, so I can melt the cheese under the broiler just before lighting)

Salmon

Arugula, beet and goat cheese salad

Mushroom quiche, spinach quiche

Southwestern brown rice and lentils

lasagna/baked ziti/mac & cheese (I'll do one or two, have to decide)

cheese cake

ice cream

I also add clementine segments.

More often than not, I skip the dressing, as the goat cheese is so rich.

I love cheesecake but I'm the only one. So not making it.
I also might not make blintzes this year.
So the two of us can start our own site if we're put in cheirem.

Likely menu:

Nights
Salmon, Greek salad, a carb cheese recipe I saw that I want to try. Nice chocolate for dessert.
Late for soup. Might go straight to main which will be an easy to reheat meal like roast and scalloped potatoes. Roasted veg?

Days
Appetizer - salmon, coffee rubbed meat I bought for Pesach, didn't use (need to find recipe)
Main - baked schnitzel, something else
Side - FF Shavuos insert had a pastrami gnocchi dish I hope to try. Might be enough for both meals. Or scalloped potatoes.
Salad - nice greens, pickles, need to review my nicer salads
Dessert - sorbet? fresh fruit? cookies, cake? ice cream?
