I'm applying for marketplace insurance in NYC. I live in Brooklyn. Which plan should I get? Healthfirst, Fidelis, MetroPlus, Oscar. (They also have Empire, Emblem, and United, but those are much more expensive.) Of the first four, which one has the most doctors that accept it? Is there any other way to get health insurance for cheap for self employed?

The most common one I think is fidelis.

Fidelis is more expensive than health first; is it better?

OP are there any specific doctors you see that you have a good relationship with, and would want to continue seeing?
Then you should call those doctors offices and ask them which plans from your list they accept.
You dont want to buy insurance and then find out that you have to find new doctors (unless you dont mind doing that)

Fidelis is a nightmare to deal with. They refuse everything. Healthfirst is much better choice. I had pretty good experience with Empire too.

I work in a mostly Frum Dr's office, and the majority of our patients have Fidelis. Next best on your list would be Healthfirst. They're both fine for primary care (which includes OB/GYN). If you or your family tend to need a lot of specialists, you might want to consider the Empire BCBS or UHC plans.

Health first is great, not all doctors take them though.

Healthfirst gives you better coverage, but many providers don't accept it. If your doctors take it, I'd say go for it.
Fidelis is more widely accepted, but doesn't cover as much as Healthfirst. (Some medications aren't always covered, certain therapies that need pre-approval are more likely to get denied, less sessions of PT approved, etc.)
