What are their special ed classes like? What kind of disabilities do they cater to?

Thanks
Do they deal with other disabilities or just learning disabilities?

My daughter is in the learning disabilities class.
But they also have special Ed classes for other disabilities. My neighbor sends and her daughter is in special ed class for down syndrome. Not sure what other disabilities. But for sure have a down syndrome class

My info may not be up to date but as far as I know, they have 2 tracks, one for girls with Down’s syndrome and other more severe disabilities, and another for kids with learning disabilities, adhd, high functioning asd and such. They have 2 classes per track, a younger group and an older group. There are about 8-10 kids per class, with a very high teacher to student ratio. The director is an incredible person, smart and knowledgeable and empathetic.

Thank you!
My daughter is very low academically. Her social behavior is on a higher level than academics but not up to par with her peers.
I need a school that will address all her needs.
She was diagnosed as intellectually disabled. Not very specific or helpful

I would def look into GY. Also Ichud. And Encore has some self contained classes in mainstream BP schools. As a sp Ed provider, intellectual disability is not always immediately discernible from learning disabilities, and the methodologies used to teach them are the same.

I don't think ichud is for her.
If Gan yisroel is similar then it might not be for her either but I will look into it.

Gan Yisroel is a really incredible school.
They have a good few hundred mainstream kids.
In addition, there is a separate special ed section called Shoshanas Yisroel (which is sometimes integrated into regular school, depending on each situation etc...)
Both principals - of the special ed and of the mainstream are INCREDIBLE people who value each child for who they are.

I worked in both Ichud and Gan Yisroel though admittedly not in the LD class. I think they cater to a similar population.
