We just realized we’ll have to move to Lakewood in the summer. Do I still stand a chance of getting my 3 4 year old kids into playgroups

It shouldn't be an issue at all. I moved last year in August and had quite a few options for playgroup.
You may not get the exact hours or block you want, but there should be good options.
