I'm looking for a dentist to fix a kid's cracked front tooth.

I live in BP but dentist doesn't need to be in BP

Doesn't need to be pediatric dentist, but that can work with kids.

If you had experience with a dentist that did a good job on front tooth, please tell me who you used.

Thank You

A couple questions, because unfortunately I have a lot of experience with this:

Is it a baby or adult tooth?
Big or small, barely noticeable chip?
How did it chip - are the teeth otherwise strong?

Then I can offer my opinion, although not a dentist as mine are pretty far from BP.

adult tooth
It's noticeable, not a small chip
happened from a fall, teeth are otherwise strong.

Ok. I’ve dealt with this and for us it’s been an ongoing drama. Please go to the best dentist you can, who will do a thorough job.

Basically, they will likely put a filling on to close the gap, which sounds like no big deal, however, being a front tooth, it’s very prone to fall out/break over the years and it will need to be replaced.
When this happened to us for (around) the third time, the dentist said the filling was just not a durable option for a front tooth and recommended a veneer instead. I agreed (big mistake), thinking this would be a more permanent option. Two years later, the veneer broke off (dentist did not accept any responsibility) leaving a tiny stump of a front tooth, embarrassing my kid to no end. At this point there was nothing we could do except have a new veneer put on and hope for the best.

Things like bagels, candy, hits to the face etc., can cause it to come off again so it is really just a matter of time.

If I could go back, we would never have allowed the dentist to convince us to get a veneer and would have applied fillings as frequently as necessary.

I know another boy who had this exact story too and his mom and I truly regret our very expensive and ultimately trauma inducing (for the poor child) mistake.

So please don’t rush into anything and make sure you find a sensitive and competent dentist.
