It's always sold separately. But you can buy it as a packaged deal and yes that means the machine is about $150 more with the bowl.

It's their standard called Bosch Universal Stainless Bowl. It comes with a cover and European dough hook.

What 987gold said - I use a bag. I actually never thought to put the whole cover into a bag, but simply cover the dough with a garbage bag and then put the cover on top and viola clean cover
But yes, use the stainless steel bowl!!
