I decided to take the idea from the other thread and I am dressing my kids up as firefighters this year. I was wondering if anybody had a cute (not too long) poem that tied fire/firefighters in with purim so I could put it in with my mishloach manos? Thanx a bunch!

how about:

I was going to write a poem for my mishloach manos because I REALLY like to have everything cute and impressive BUT...

we were all to busy fighting a fire to entertain you. better luck next year when we all go through a career change...

I would totally do this, btw. so it's a serious suggestion.

say, if you all dress up as poets next year you may be in trouble Twisted Evil

climbing up the "LADAR" ... grab a hat , lets go....
We're "burning" with excitement... let the hydrants flow...!!!!
Our crew is here to serve you - together we fight the fire!
A freilichin Purim to you... raising your spirits higher!

gave it a shot............

Thanks so much Bigdeal! I really like it. I might change a couple of the words around, but it's really great otherwise. Thank you again.

Ok so I was bored today and decided to attempt to write my own poem - with help from the one BigDeal posted. It came out longer than I originally wanted, but whatever... Could you ladies please tell me if it sounds normal? I'm not really sure about the "Haman's fate" part, is it too... ya know?

In the tale of Purim we know so well
Haman’s “burning” hatred and anger did swell
He wished to destroy, “extinguish”, wipe out
The Jews of the world who were making him pout

But what he could not possibly understand
Is that the Jews would always have the upper hand
With our “flame” of devotion to Hashem above
We’d put out Haman’s fire, extinguish it with love

So we’re very “ax”cited that Purim is here
We wish to share this message that we hold so dear
Help us put out the fires of anger and hate
Before we end up sharing old Haman’s fate

So a Happy Purim we all wish to say
Be smiley and cheerful, on this wonderful day!

No problem! I changed my poem a little at the end... feel free to use it or take ideas from it...

So we can bring Moshiach Bimhera Biyamenu Amen!

I wrote mine--but it doesn't have much to do with purim--more like us just being firemen and going through some fire safety procedures linked to all the nosh inside...

We're doing water bottles, Herr's red hot potato chips, hot tamales, and not sure what else yet... I like your fruit rollup idea ManhattanMom. I ordered platic helmets from Oriental Trading and I will be putting everything in those and wrapping them with red cellophane...
