I had Goldbaum Almond Flour from Pesach and decided to try the Biscotti recipe from the package.

The texture is great, but it tastes a little dietetic, and I realized why. Theres no sugar.

Ive eaten Biscotti and its always sweet.

Why might Goldbaum have put a recipe for Biscotti on their package that is not sweet?

I assume its because they feel the almond flour is sweet by itself, but nowhere as sweet as ALL the Biscotti Ive tasted before.

I was about to make the biscotti for Pesach when I realized there was no sugar in the recipe. I think the sugar was mistakenly left out.

I made it twice. Once with some xylitol. It was delicious. The 2nd time I figured maybe it really isn't supposed to have added sweetness and tried it without adding any sweetener. It did not taste good at all. I had to drizzle chocolate on top to make it edible.

It seems that way. Im surprised that no one mentioned it.

They must have sold many thousands of packages of their almond flour.

Does anyone have this recipe printed? Its hard to read off the dark brown background.

Is sugar added with eggs and oil, or later, because sugar is last ingredient.

The picture reads:

3 eggs
1/4 cup oil
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
4 cups almond flour
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Cream eggs, oil, vanilla and sugar. Add baking powder and almonds and mix until dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips.
Make 2 logs, flattening down so they're 4" wide & 1/2" thick. Bake on parchment lined cookie sheet in oven preheated to 350 for 20 min.
Cool slightly and cut into 1/2" slices. Lay slices cut side down on cookie sheets and bake additional 10-15 min.

Ugh. Just made these love them and got so confused that there's only vanilla sugar...but thought that's how it was supposed to be. They are already in the oven. Gam zu ltovah

The weirdest thing is they reprinted the same bags again for this year with the missing sugar in the recipe.
