What crowd lives in that area?
In terms of tv, Internet, do women cover hair, wear pants, short sleeve, etc
More yeshivish? Mo? Chasidim?
No bashing and criticize, just to see if it’s a match.

Hi! My husband and I live Ave I and 7th. It might give you some perspective— on our block of over 20 houses we are one of two Ashkenaz / Yeshivish families. Everyone else is Syrian and largely varying degrees of observance. Very few cover their hair (I think maybe 2 on my block, maybe 3?) or dress with skirts, or remotely tzinius. Many watch TV and play sports and other things on Shabbos... but they are keh very passionate about Judaism. I find nearly all are respectful of Shabbos- no one drives. I would consider most of my neighbors more “traditional” or very very modern and not “orthodox”. They are good people. This “community/crowd” begins on the deadend of E7/Ocean Parkway- E10 and goes all the way until Ave K about. Except for us and a very limited handful of other “frum frum frum” families it’s really just this type over in this neck of the woods.

How do you explain it all to the kids? How do you let them be friends with the neighbors and limit the exposure to tv or other things?
If you don’t want to answer publicly Let me know
