Good morning! DH made a potato kugel that came out underbaked and greyish looking. I had been planning on cooking some chicken over potatoes for tonight but now I'm thinking of repurposing the kugel and cooking the chicken on top with some kind of sauce to disguise the grey. I just can't decide what sauce to make. Suggestions please!
Caveats: I only have chicken cutlets, so it needs to be saucy enough that the chicken won't dry out. And I am not going back out to the store today so it has to be made with common pantry items.

Sounds like a plans. Yes, it would be easier if it was legs. Maybe a mushroom wine?

Hmm, I don't have mushrooms available for this (I need them for something else). Maybe I could saute an onion and use some dry red wine to make a sauce. Oh, I also have marsala wine.
Should I go sweet(ish) or savory?
I could also do some kind of BBQ sauce thing.

I don't have duck sauce. It's not something we use generally.

I would just add some water and overnight the kugel. Always works.

I had a flopped kugel. Got an idea on here to put chicken bottoms and basic spices on chicken. Cover well and bake. It was beyond delicious.
